Back home

Dylan and I are home again after our wonderful vacation down to Sunriver! We had a great time but missed Daddy of course. The weather was HOT as it was here in Seattle but at least in Sunriver we had a central air! We left my parents house at 6am on Saturday the 25th of July. Made it down to Centralia for breakfast. Ate lunch at Government Camp around noon. Dylan slept most of the way down until we hit Madras, OR when he decided he had had enough of being in the car. We had to make a stop on the side of the road just outside of Redmond, OR to let him out of the car since he was screaming his head off. He made it to Bend where we stopped for groceries at Albertsons. Made it to the house in Sunriver around 4pm. Unpacked and had Papa Murphy's for dinner before walking into the Village for ice cream, candy, etc. at Goody's. The next 11 days were pretty much the same. We would wake up around 8am and get prepared for the day at the pool. Dylan loved the water and would get completely relaxed and would almost fall asleep while in the pool. He would nap either in his stroller or on a towel under an umbrella. We went into Bend a few times to go to the outlet malls, go out to dinner or hit up a concert (my brother and sister and cousin saw Sugarland). We got home last night around 8pm. The drive home didn't go as well as the way down. Dylan had a few meltdowns which required a lot more stops. But my Mom was able to keep him pretty entertained so that helped. It was a wonderful vacation and so fun to be with family. Hopefully Joe will be able to come in future years!

Dylan accomplished a lot on this trip. He now can roll over from back to front and while sitting in his bouncy chair can grab and hold onto all of the dangling toys and make the center one play music. He also makes dozens of facial expressions and found his voice which he used to 'scream' over the trip. It was his in-between happy and mad stage, instead of just starting to cry, he'd squeal as loud as he could. It was hilarious. I have a video of it.

  1. That is adorable. It looks like he is enjoying his nap in the stroller. They grow up so fast!
