Sunriver 2010
We just got home late last night from our trip down to Sunriver, OR with my family. They went down on the 31st but I still had school so Dylan and I took a flight down on Wednesday, the 4th to meet up with them. It was Dylan's very first flight, and I was on my own. But he did great! He was fast asleep even before take-off. The 2 hours prior that we had to be at the airport early were a little stressful, we had to take Shuttle Express since it was mid-day and therefore we had lots of time to kill once we were through security. Dylan of course wanted to run through the terminals...and I had to find ways to distract him from wanting to do it. I was worried that he would be restless and want to do the same on the plane, but he was tired and snoozed the whole flight!
We spent most of the days at the pool, Dylan is a little water baby and loved the pool, both the big pool and kiddie pool. He would just take off and run over to the water, no fears! He was great at keeping his balance in the 1ft. deep baby pool and loved to splash and kick and jump into the big pool.
We went on some bike rides, we got a new bike trailer to pull him in. He didn't like it at first, and hated his helmet, but after the first time, we wanted to go in it and would put his helmet on himself. We also floated down the Deschutes River. He did not want his life jacket on at all and our departure happened to coincide with nap time so he screamed for at least a half an hour until he fell asleep. I don't think he'll be wanting to put on a life jacket again any time soon....
He was a big part of our entertainment, he would dance anytime music was on, including when my siblings would play videos off of YouTube on their phones for him. His favorite is the theme some from Two and a Half Men and he even has the last chord nailed and sings it almost on tune.
Dylan developed red and puffy eyes the second day, we thought it was just irritation from the pool or from the smoke in the air from the forest fire nearby. It was gone by the next day and a half. However, two days later, I had the same thing and so did my sister so she and I had to go into town to the urgent care to get drops for pink eye! Not fun when on vacation!
Since there are so many pictures, here's the link to them online.
