Two years!
On April 14, Dylan turned 2! We can't believe how quickly it's flown by. Even to think that at the beginning of my school program, he was just 5 months old. He had a party at daycare on his birthday with cupcakes and Toy Story gifts and party favors. We picked him up from daycare and went up to Marysville for dinner at Olive Garden to celebrate. He's so polite these days, when the waiter gave him a bread plate, he responded, "thank you" all by himself! I was so proud of him...that is until a few minutes later he crawled under the table to poop.
After that we stopped at Walmart to pick up the mattresses we had ordered for his new bunkbed. We had picked up the bunkbed frame the previous week and were just waiting for the mattresses. We decided that bunkbeds would be the next best arrangement for his room and to not waste money on a toddler bed since these bunkbeds can be separate and stand-alone as a twin and a full. So we're set in the bed department for whenever the second Van Alstine child comes and will need a bed after a crib as Dylan will have the full and the second kid can have the twin, or if we have another boy, they can be bunkmates. As for what's he's up to these days. He weighs 29 pounds and is 36 inches tall. He hasn't had his 2-yr check-up yet which will let us know what percentile he's in. He's constantly on the go and is still quite the bossy pants. He loves to tell us what to do...the previous week he even tried to put ME in timeout! He still manages to melt our hearts, though this morning I woke up to him giving me a kiss on the forehead and saying, "wa you" (love you).
