Easter 2013

The day before Easter, Mary, Dylan, Luke and I got up and went to the Monroe Egg Hunt. We were shocked when we got there to find the park shrouded in fog and freezing! It was sunny at our house when we left. This was the first egg hunt I'd taken Dylan too so he wasn't quite sure what to expect but he was super excited and after some coaching and tips from Grandma and Mom, did well at scooping up those eggs. It was a little disappointing when minutes after the hunt started, swarms of other parents filled the field to aid their kids. It was the 3 & 4 year old field and the rules were no parents. So it sort of took the fun out of it when Dylan had to fight other adults to get eggs. It's not like the eggs were even filled with good candy-smarties and no-name chewy crap!

We were lucky to have the sun appear right before the hunt started and the rest of the day was gorgeous. Mary made us steak and lobster for dinner, delicious!!

The next morning, Dylan woke up to find that the Easter Bunny had hid eggs for him in our dining and living rooms. He also brought both boys baskets (though all Luke got was an Easter book). We went to my parent's house after lunch where Dylan found more eggs, we spent some time out in the yard in the sun and ate a yummy dinner of ham, scalloped potatoes, fruit salad, peas and rolls with adorable mini cheesecake Easter baskets for dessert.

We were originally planning to go out to breakfast with my parents, then to church but Luke had a super fussy day on Saturday so I was too tired to try to get up early. Joe cooked eggs and bacon and I made Dylan a bunny pancake for breakfast
