Splash Weeks
Again this year, Dylan and Luke's daycare took part in Splash Week held at the YMCA (or the CYMA as Dylan called it). But this year, they signed up for two different sessions both at the Mill Creek location and the Monroe facility. So last week was held each day in Mill Creek and this week has been in Monroe. So Dylan got two full weeks of daily lessons this year in hopes to get him more used to the water.
Dylan has become slightly more comfortable in the water compared to last year. He still is pretty timid when it comes to just getting in and getting wet. He likes to warm up to it and still resists putting his face in the water or ducking under. And jumping into the pool is another thing. At the end of each lesson, the teacher has them jump in from standing on the side. Dylan is so unwilling to do it and will either jump in place and then crouch down as far as he can before basically just leaning into the teacher's arms or sit down and slide in. So he still needs work.
But he's doing better than this time last year. He's not afraid to do the back float like he used to be and will blow bubbles all day if you let him. So there's progress.
