We had an eventful Father's Day weekend this year. Not exactly all involving the actual day but just a busy weekend. Friday night was Parent's Night Out at daycare so Joe and I took the opportunity to go on a long overdue date out to dinner at Anthony's.

Saturday we made the trip over the ferry to Bainbridge to help with the annual (or attempted annual) "work" party at my Grandparent's house. Lots of yard work, tree and bush trimming, power washing and trimming and cutting down trees off the bank that overlooks the water was accomplished. Their dock is very dilapidated and in desperate need of a re-do but is such a huge project and all the able-bodied family members agree we need to do something about it but it will be a huge project to demolish the existing dock and boat house and build a new one. So that will be planned for the next time.

Joe had to go into work Sunday since we were gone all day Saturday. Once he was home, he got to open his gifts and get lots of love and special time with the boys. We got him a new grill cover and some new flip-flops as well as a new picture for his desk at work. He always says he never needs or wants anything so he's hard to buy for! The rest of the day, he spent attacking the mole holes that have been popping up all over the front and back yard. Darn things just won't take the hint they aren't welcome!

We had a busy weekend but hopefully Joe felt appreciated for the truly wonderful Dad he is!
