And we shall call him Jasper

Well, we were pet-free for a few months (unless you count the very resilient fish that we've had for years)...until this past Thursday, when this very friendly kitty came around. We're not sure where he came from, but he quickly decided that he liked us (or the food we kept feeding him) and he's stuck around! He seems to be a younger cat, and has already had some tough times- his tail is a bit shorter than usual and has a kink about halfway down but he's just the sweetest thing.

He does like to explore the outdoors but just last night we were successfully able to get him into the garage where he put his new cat bed and he stayed all night. We re-opened the dog door so he can come in and out as he pleases. The next step is to get him to the vet to check his health and for any microchip in case he belongs to someone else.

I've become attached already to the little sweetheart, as have the boys, and Luke has learned how to be gentle with him and not hit/kick him like he first did. Although getting a cat was not in the plans, looks like this cat decided he was ready to become part of our family.

Here he is!

Notice Luke's "going outside" attire. He has a minor shoe fetish as of late
and wants his shoes on from the moment he wakes up until bedtime. He chose to accessorize with his hat
and sunglasses this morning as well.
