Dylan is 5 1/2!
So this will be out of order seeing as I'm behind on my posts. But Dylan's half birthday was this past Tuesday and Luke will be 20 months on Friday so I have to at least get those two posts out of the way and then I'll get caught up on other ones.

What he wants to be when he grows up: Cop
Milestones:
-Lost his first tooth!
-Is learning to read and pretty excited about it. Is on Set Two of sight words for school (each child has individual monthly goals to practice and he mastered his first goal the week he got it and moved on to Set One Sight Words the next week and then Set Two the next day!)
Notes:
-Now that he's in his second month of Kindergarten, he's really starting to like it. He now gets homework packets every Monday and they're due every Friday. He is so eager to do his homework that he'll get a majority of it done that same day he brings it home. His other favorite thing is their weekly trips to the library where he gets to pick out a book to take home. He still loves recess and P.E. the most, and any time the weather is favorable, will spend hours outside playing at home, even if it's by himself.
-He's still playing rec soccer every Saturday. They have two more Saturdays to play. He's improved so much and scores a couple of goals each game. Once the season is over, I'll try to get him back into either swimming or indoor soccer. He needs something to help expel his energy!
-He's still in his 5-point harness car seat. Much to his dismay since most of his friends are just in booster seats now. But since Luke's car seat is still rear-facing (and will be until he's two years old), his seat only fits in the middle seat in my car. So their car seats are next to each other. Even though Dylan's car seat does convert to a belt-positioning booster, and he's at the minimum height and weight to switch to that, we're playing it safe and waiting until he reaches the maximum limit (which could be any day now as it's 50 lbs...). Seeing that even if we did switch to the seat belt, he can't reach the clicker with Luke's seat next to it! It will be a challenge to figure that out once we reach that point.
